BARBER
NVQ LEVEL 2 HAIRDRESSING CERTIFIED
At 16, leaving school I had 0 idea what I wanted to do with my life, this lead to a whirlwind career in hairdressing and barbering that would take me to Manchester, Dubai and Australia and meet olympic medalists, footballers and fashion icons!

School didn't help us in preparing us or opening our minds to thinking much about our next move very seriously so I left school at 16 with good GCSE results and fell into an apprenticeship in a local salon, which I ended up loving! I loved the lively party atmosphere, the organic products and the before and after we gave our clients. I qualified as a hairdresser but didn't continue my career as a womens only hairdresser.

At 18 I moved to Manchester city centre and started work in a barber salon on Deansgate where I met someone awesome who showed me how to cut mens hair amazingly! I still owe my entire barbering career to him, thank you Thomas!

MASTER BARBER
Later, an opportunity to work in a salon in Dubai came up, I taught myself how to wet shave people and went 4 hours south for the interview. I got the job and soon moved to spend the next year working for Hommage Atelier in the District of International Finance Center in Dubai, UAE.
I met a guy whilst living in Dubai called Lucas Raven who was the CEO of an online magazine at the time called 'Pingingu'. They were looking for an online mens grooming writer, so I jumped onboard! We did interviews and attended events and it allowed me to meet both Roberto Cavalli - the massive fashion legend and Franca Sozzani - editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia before her death in 2016 at Robertos store in Dubai mall.

It was a crazy time filled with lavish parties, meetings and nights out. I had a wonderful time.
MASTER BARBER
A referral from Dubai allowed me to then go on to work for QT hotels in Sydney as a barber in their spa.

I also worked freelance for a while heading into barber shops and salons around the UK teaching barbering to their staff and apprentices.
